There is a misspelling/typo in the photo caption. It is "Sioux" not "Souix"
With $11,764 a year a person CANNOT afford to rent a 1-bedroom apartment in San Diego. Don't bother thinking about eating.
As a matter of fact, hand in your rental application with that they'll laugh you out of the office.
Now you do the math, and then remember to add up what the USA minimum wage is per month for a majority of the crappy jobs available in this country. Survivable? Only if your old car doesn't break down and you don't ever get sick enough to need a doctor...
But, all in all, the European invaders certainly have/are getting their monies worth for this continent one would think. Look how much has been destroyed or polluted or build on and one would get the impression that a pittance paid to the few descendants of the survivors of genocide is quite a bargain!
Really. Good questions!
Good to know that the author sees a light at the end of the tunnel. If I could wave a magic wand, I would switch all the money we spend on illegal aliens and give it to the Indian nations to use as they wish. Since the total numbers of indians is relatively low, it would not take that much to improve their infrastructure, health, and education. Charity begins at home.
Two questions no one wants to answer:1. Where does the $20-billion per year in taxpayer dollars given to support 1.7-million enrolled members (that is $11,764 per enrolled member per years) plus $32-billion in gaming plus business revenue go? 2. Where is the Statutes at Large for the existence of U.S.C. Title 25-INDIANS?
Really!!! Where does the taxpayers $20-billion dollars per year given to some 1.7-million enrolled tribal members go? ($20-billion per year divided by 1.7-million puts $11,764.51 into every man, woman and child's pocket!) Plus, where does the $32-billion in gaming go? And, lastly, where does business enterprise revenue go?
Two questions for Juanpablo Ramirez-Franco to answer:
1. Where does the $20-billion in taxpayer dollars per year given to support 1.7-million enrolled tribal members plus their $32-billion in gaming plus their revenue stream from business enterprise go? Before posting remarks like this remark, do your homework and determine where taxpayer dollars, gaming, and other revenue goes: "Pine Ridge is the poorest community in the United States." This faux Indian reservation has been on federal welfare since 1924 that has achieved what?
2. Where is the Statutes at Large for the existence of U.S.C. Title 25-INDIANS? NO Statutes. NO Title 25-INDIANS.
